Very pleased with these devices. Before they even arrived, Soma contacted me to ensure they would be suitable for the types of blinds I had, and Karin was really thorough and helpful to speak to.
Once here, they were very straightforward to install and set up. They manage to lift a very wide blind (2.5m) with no problem and the feature for them to open and close at sunrise and sunset is great. There is the option for a small solar panel, but rather than have an extra wire and the panel stuck to the window, I prefer to just charge them by cable - it only needs doing every few weeks.
The only improvement I’d make is that actually there are times when it would be useful to open them the ‘old-fashioned way’. They’re entirely smart, so can only be activated by phone or smart speaker. There’s the odd occasion when I don’t have my phone to hand, or the speaker fails to recognise them. So sometimes a button on the device to open or close them would actually be quicker.

I got 6 of these, planning to get more shortly and automate all my shades. Easy to set up and works great. I don't believe there is a product better than this at this price point (even tho it snot cheap) it is worth it.

As the title suggests, I've had these on 11 of my living room window shades with their little solar chargers and they are just excellent. They've been going up and down multiple times a day for almost 3 years now and though I've had problems with a couple since then, the support team has not let me down. They communicate through SOMA Connect via my Smartthings hub and run routines based on the actual sunset/sunup times every day.

This is a very practical solution to make blinds smart. The connection via Soma Connect and the integration into Apple Home didn't work right away. The really friendly and fast support I received was exemplary. I would choose this solution again.

Had a couple of teething problems, the endpoints moved a few times. Support are good, they always reply within a day or so. I haven’t had a problem for 4 or 5 days, hopefully it’s settled down and will cause no more problems.
